Open the trunk door.

Remove the two screws with the Phillips screwdriver, rotating counter clockwise.
The taillight housing can now be detached from the vehicle.

Gently pull the detached taillight housing away from the vehicle.
There will be wires attached to two different bulb sockets.

Disconnect the harness from the bulb socket by pushing in on the tabs and pulling.
Removing the harness from the bulb socket might require some force. Try moving the harness back and forth while pushing on the tabs if you are having trouble removing the harness.
Repeat the last two steps to disconnect the second harness from the bulb socket.
