Before attempting to insert the wires, note their correct orientation. The center wire should be inserted into the positive (+) terminal on the left and the outer wire should be inserted into the negative (-) terminal on the right.

Use your thumb to push back the orange spring clamps on both terminals and insert both wires into their respective terminals. Insert the wires as far in as possible.

Make sure that exposed strands of the positive and negative wires do not touch each other when installed in their final positions in the terminals!
