The phone is not responding to touch.

A substance coating the screen may cause the phone to be non-responsive to touch. Wipe the screen with a soft dry cloth. Microfiber cloths work well.

If the phone's screen is not responding to touch, resetting the phone may be the solution. Hold the power button until the screen turns black. Wait a few seconds. Hold to power button to turn the phone back on.

When you touch the phone's screen, something else is selected instead.

Go to the "Settings" app on the phone. Scroll down to "System". Select "System Update". Select "Update now".

If the phone is still making faulty selections, a factory reset may reset the calibration. Before resetting the phone, back up the phone's content on Google Cloud or a PC. To reset the phone, go to the "Settings" app. Select "Backup and Reset". Select "Factory Data Reset". Follow the prompts to complete the factory reset. Once the reset is complete, the phone will reboot.

If the reset does not work, you may need to see a technician.

The battery will not keep the phone powered for an extended amount of time.

If the battery is draining quickly, too many apps may be open at one time. Many apps remain open, even if you switch to the phone's home screen. To close background apps, press the leftmost button on the bottom of the phone. Swipe horizontally to either side to close all open apps.

If the battery is draining quickly, this may because the storage on the phone is almost full. To clear storage space, delete unnecessary texts, emails, photos or apps.

Extensive use of the phone may drain the battery quickly. Turning on Battery saver conserves battery life during prolonged usage. To turn on this feature, select the "Settings" app. Select "Battery". Select "Battery saver".

The phone is getting too hot.

If the phone is in direct sunlight or near a heat source, it may cause the phone to overheat and malfunction. Move the phone to a cooler area to reduce its temperature.

Too many open applications may cause the phone to overheat. To close background apps, press the leftmost button on the bottom of the phone. Swipe horizontally towards either side to close all open apps.

When attempting to turn the phone on, it is unresponsive.

If the battery is dead, the phone may not turn on. Plug the phone into a charger for a short period of time before attempting to turn it on again.

If the battery is not in the phone, the phone may not turn on. Locate the phone’s battery and make sure it is secured into the phone. Replace the back cover before attempting to turn it on again.
