How do I replace a wheel on my Roomba 650?

Roomba turns on and seems to function properly, but doesn't move. I hear a noise coming from inside, like a kind of turning. It's like it's trying to move but can't. Does a wheel need replacing? Or is it something else?

It is possible that your Roomba has a faulty wheel module. Do you get any error code? have you at least partially taken it apart to see where the noise comes from? did you check your battery to make sure it is fully charged? What have you tried?

Hi Charles,

The troubleshooting page for the Roomba 650 talks about how to fix a roomba that is not moving. It suggest that you first check for debris in the wheel housing. If the housing is clear of all debris, it may be your motor that needs to be replaced.

You should check out that page at iRobot Roomba 650 Troubleshooting

A possible cause to your problem is that the side wheel of the Roomba get stuck. There might be some obstruction preventing the wheels from moving. Try pushing the wheels up and down to get any debris and dirt out and see if the Roomba cleans now. If it still doesn't, the wheels might be dead, so it's best if you replace it. You can try going on the Roomba trouble shooting page to see if they have a solution there. www.ifixit.com/device/iRobot_Roomba_650
