Have the same tv and same problem. It only happens on Uverse. I can turn it off and on and it will fix it most of the time.

It was my old uverse dvr. Got a new one and fixed.

I have the same problem, but I have to unplug it for 10 mins or longer and it comes back in but now it's going off soon after it's back on?? Please help

tarafından

I have no dvr or cable. Only regular broadcast tv. Flat screen samsung tv. Everyday time of the channels (different ones each time) have no sound. Not the sap (language) button, not the mute. I have no type of boxes connected.

what brings back the sound is i have to channel up and down to channels with sound many times until finally i get sound on these channels. It's infuriating.

Hi,

Here is a link which may be of some help.

Try the 'Sound Test' first ( if it is available on your model) and if it doesn't help with finding a solution try the 'Reset' option and see if it helps.

http://www.samsung.com/au/support/skp/fa...

Also, if you have an headphones connection on the TV, try it and see if the problem exists. It may be a 'speaker' problem as opposed to an audio one.

Hate to tell you this but I have ac Samsung ue65hu8500.

From day 1 ive had the same issue as well. No amount of resets nor firmware upgrades have fixed it. Samsung completely deny its an issue. A four thousand pound mistake. Even sorcing from roku and using bluetooth headphones the same.

Some films, via the Netflix app, I can reproduce sound cut out 100% guarantted in the same place. Samsung said not their app even though its on their hub. Even when I said the issue was from on tv on apps via roku - all sources, they refused to accept there is an issue.

The reason im saying now.. In the last 1 hour ive had the issue at least 20 times.

I really just want to throw the TV. But, like I said, 4k when I bought it a couple of years back - I just dont feel I can warrant the waste. I jyst wish Samsung would do the right thing.

Wont be buying Samsung ever again.

Samsung UN50EH5000 50-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED TV (2012 Model)

Is my model...

Nothing nothing nothing solves this!

No cable box, no dvr, no netflix, no direct tv, not SAP, regular broadcast tv.

As i said before...

I have to channel up and down dozens of times then it's back...

GRRRRRR

Hi: I have had the same problem. I turned off my Bose Soundbar and turned up the tv ( Samsung 4K) volume. It's fine now.

tarafından

We've isolated the issue to the optical board. When our sound bar is hooked up via component cable there is NO DROPOUTS. The minute we hook up the optical cable for (better) sound, the dropouts start. I believe it's defective optical boards and Samsung doesn't want to replace them in millions of units.

Turn off the Anynet setting. It's highjacking the TV and causes this problem.

what is Anynet and how do you turn it off

Jetson,

Many thanks for this suggestions - I went into the settings menu and turned it off. It seems to have sorted the problem. Do you know whether this is the One Connect Box that is causing the issue (i.e faulty but running Anynet) or is Anynet simply firmware that runs on the TV? I'd like to take Samsung to task on this! Thanks for this!

tarafından

Hi Huriyyah Amatullah-Bey. You will find Anynet on/off option in the Settings Menu - I think it's under 'System'. but it's in the menu somewhere. It's designed to allow you to control all your peripherals with one control which is no issue for me. Turn it off and see if it solves the problem!

tarafından

thank you so much... turning off anynet solved my problem.

Just one question how did it turn on as i have my tv for 10 years and it worked perfect until today when i turned tv on and discovered this sound problem.

Tried this yesterday it has worked I have a 9 yr old tv that started this about 6 wks ago thank you so much

I recently purchased a samsung UN40J5200 1080 Smart TV with preloaded apps including Netflix and Amazon. When downloading movies from EITHER app after about 20 min of watching sound sound cuts out with short irregular bursts of sound. TV verified apps were up to date. I was able to overcome problem by using a Roku model 4620X (a smart device with powerful quad processor) to connect with Netflix etc.

My hypothesis for streaming problems is that Samsung didn't put enough RAM to hold the movies and prioitizes picture over sound! IF THIS IS TRUE then they are being CHEAP. Not a good business model. I won't buy another Samsung TV. I wasted about 3 hours on this problem and it was very annoying!

I purchase a Samsung on Black Friday. I am having issues with the sound only when it comes to Netflix. I don't want to have to purchase additional equipment to make it work. What are other resolutions? I'm disappointed with Samsung. I was on the phone with Samsung, Netflix amd my internet company and got nowhere, that were blaming each other. I want the problem fixed as it is frustrating.

My Samsung will play on Channel 3 (directv), but one all the others it cuts in and out. I have done everything including resets. No more Samsung for me.

my Samsung 43" tv sound is perfect. Hope this helps some of you.

Mike, you can't have Dolby turned on with surround sound and it shouldn't be intermittent without surround sound even with bitstream on.

TV - U50KU7000KXXA

Sound bar- HW-MS550

Sound 'hicups' on tv speakers and soundbar using HDMI or optical audio connection.

I put my 'HDMI Audio Format' to Bitstream and 'Audio Format' to PCM and it sorted it out. I have no clue what it all means but it worked......luckily, because the next adjustment was to be a brick through the screen.

As Jetson said (and I tried this today and it seems to have solved the issue (which I have lived with for two years!). Go into your settings on the TV and find Anynet (which if 'on' turn 'off'). It solved the problem. The only issue seems to be that I need to manually turn the volume off on the TV because Anynet used to turn the TV volume off automatically when I used my AV receiver. That said, it's lovely to watch TV without the constant breaks in the sound - I am going to report this to Samsung....

For folks who need steps, like myself: Samsung 5 Series Model UN40M5300, Anynet is found under Settings>General>External Device Manager>Anynet+(HDMI-CEC) and select the button to turn it off. (Button should be grayed out when off).

Can't turn it off

I turned off AnyNet. Still no sound. I’m not using Dolby. All settings seem fine. Tv is about 4-5 years old. Purchased new.

Samsung QLED 65" Q7 less than one year old. It has sound bar/speaker. At times vol. has to be up max of 100 to hear. Samsung has HUGE problem with poor sound. This tv has two small speakers on back, one on each end. We also had their 32" HD--it suddenly and completely lost sound. Failed Samsung sound test. Prev., we had a Samsung large tv 12 years--w/2 or 3 " black "frame" around screen--great. Anyone know if they still make similar "framed" larger tv? Techs explain sound problems on newer tvs like QLED due to public's desire for thin tv and Samsung assumes you will also buy sound bar. Thin tv requires using small thin speakers=poor sound. Does anyone know how to increase volume on QLED Samsung? Or if not, what tv is the best (we do not stream, etc.) in picture quality/motion control for sports, sound, etc. ? Also, I see some recs about turning off Dolby--or turning it on: Question: Do Comcast/Xfinity cable boxes support Dolby? Thanks to all!!

I bought my 55 inch flat screen samsung "smart" TV last year during black friday and have had the same problem. The only fix I have found is using an apple tv instead of their smart hub.

I have this model UN48J520D and my TV has this problem and has had it from day one. I talked to Samsung and they blamed it on every device attache'd to the tv. They told me not to take it back to Costco but to try this and try that but to no avail. The tv even cutout on the digital antenna. This is the most irritating thing possible. There has to be a way to hold their feet to the fire. Tv is now almost 2 yrs old. Turning off adobe does nothing.

I have the same problem. Turning off Anynet does not help or resolve the problem.

The only thing hooked to this t v is the cable box on HDMI1

I did the anynet and seems to be working. Amazing. I really didn’t think about it until one night in bed I realized that my tv upstairs didn’t do it EVER! So I googled and found that the anynet off is working. Give it a try and I hope it works for you.

Hi,

Can you try using a digital optical cable between the TV audio out (digital optical port) and the soundbar's TV digital optical in port?

Change the Sound settings in the TV. This is from p.36 of the manual:

"If you connect an external audio device using an optical cable, the Sound Output setting is automatically changed to the connected device. However, to make this happen, you must turn on the external audio device before connecting the optical cable.

To manually change the Sound Output setting, do one of the following:

Also the input selected on the Soundbar may have to be changed to OPT input (i think)

– Use the Quick Settings screen to change to the connected device:

Use the Select button to select Audio Out/Optical on the Sound Output menu. > Settings > up directional button > Sound > Sound Output.

– Use the Settings screen to change to the connected device:

Select Audio Out/Optical on the Sound Output menu. > Settings > Sound > Sound Output).

● An unusual noise coming from a connected audio device while you are using it may indicate a problem with the audio device itself. If this occurs, ask for assistance from the audio device's manufacturer.

● Digital audio is only available with 5.1 channel broadcasts.

You'll also have to change the soundbar input to OPT/input (I think)

Thanks for helping. I will give this a try and report back.....may be a few days though.

I have a new Samsung Qled 65 inch and the sound is cutting out on it, I tried the Anynet thing and that did not work, any other suggestions? I'm using the Vizio sound bar.

Ken, try changing the video quality from HDX or HD to SD.

Changing the Anynet to off and turning of DolbyDIgital didn’t work for me. I had to change the video quality from HDX to SD. This problem only occurs on videos or movies that are HDX through apps like VUDU.

I agree this is absolutely frustrating. I spent $800 for a samsung tv. I shouldn’t have to deal with this crap. Get it together Samsung!!
