Replaced digitizer starting to fail

iPad3. Last year I replaced my digitizer/screen with a new iFixit digitizer. Now, the left edge of the digitizer is dead to touch. The dead zone started about 1/8” wide and has grown to about 1/4” wide. Meanwhile the right edge is doing the same thing, about 1/8” wide.

I keep it in a wraparound case and I noticed the left edge is starting to come unglued. Is this related? Can I fix this somehow, or do I need another digitizer?

Hi @wolfharper ,

I suggest that you contact ifixit regarding the problem with the touchscreen “dead zones”. It never hurts to ask

According to their iPad 3/4 Screen Digitizer parts information, there is a lifetime warranty on their parts

Replace a scratched or cracked front glass screen digitizer panel. This part is compatible with a 3rd or 4th generation retina display model iPad. Görseli

Try re plugging the screen back in. If it doesn’t work, you will have to replace the digitizer again . Let me know results … thank you

Yeah digitiser needs to be replaced. I always add b7000 glue on bottom left and clamp down for a while to avoid this problem of the glass getting pushed up via the cable.
