Bought A1582 battery replacement from ifixit store, doesn' work

Hi,

just for clearance, I already contacted EU customer support, so here’s my problem.

I bought a battery replacement for my macbook pro 13 retina 2015 from iFixit EU store, battery model is correct A1582.

Just arrived, I opened my macbook and tested the battery without removing the old one, just to not take apart a very glued battery and discover that new battery does not work.

Without power mac doesn't start, with power red charger light comes up, booting is starting but process does not complete itself and restart again. I also tried to reset SMC and PRAM but same.

By reinstalling my old battery the boot process goes fine.

Is iFixit battery defective?

You do need to charge it for awhile before you can tell for sure.

But lets get a handle on what it looks like now and then let it charge and test again. Install this gem of an app CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the main screen and post both here for us to see Adding images to an existing question. I would also recommend you review this Apple T/N as well Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters make sure the cable is in good shape and connector faces are clean and not damaged.

Hi @danj

I tried to leave charger connected but mac reboots every 15 seconds without complete the boot process. I don't want to burn my disk or motherboard.

For coconoutBattery I can't install it because boot process does not complete itself and it can't reach the lockscreen.

My charger works great

OK, lets do this lets disconnect the battery following this guide MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 Battery Replacement follow the steps to Step 6. Then carefully hold the power button down for a good minute. Then plug in the MagSafe charger the system should spontaneously startup. Is it stable or is it still rebooting on its own?
