Backup camera not working all the time.
My backup camera keeps going out and coming back on sometimes it even shows the picture upside down. How do I fix it.

Hi,
I don't know why the image would be upside down, but here's an image the wiring diagram for the rear camera for the 2009-2015 Dodge Journey that may help.
When the camera is not working, turn the ignition on and shift the vehicle into reverse and check if the backup lights work and also check if 12V DC is appearing on pin 6 of the backup camera. If the voltage is there check if there is an earth on pin 5.
If there is voltage and earth you will have to check the continuity of the 3 wires going from the camera to the C3 plug of the radio.
If everything appears to be OK it may be in the camera or the radio, unfortunately I cannot find schematics for either.

I know chrysler products can be known for electrical issues. I would start with checking the connections from the camera to the head unit.

Its in the wiring harness at tailgate. They frey and break from the repeated opening and closing of it. Top left of it when open you'll see the boot that covers wires. Open it and examin wire. Mine were frayed and three were broke.
