My fault - poor skill - Did I damage my lcd?

Hi all,

My iPad front glass was damaged but the screen was OK. I brought a front screen replacement and tried to do it myself.

The progress did not go well because all the small pieces of broken glasses. And after I finish the replacement and reconnect again. My lcd turn to black and white strips.

Could you post pictures of the LCD connector? Both the board and flex cable themselves?

@hootonberg Thank Jesse,

I add some pictures of the connectors. Grateful for your help.

@samchoo sorry I should've been a bit more specific. Could you disconnect the connectors and send pictures? I'm trying to see if there's any bent or damaged pins.

@samchoo Did you disconnect the battery before performing the screen replacement?

Hi Andrew, thanks. No, I think I didn't. I just follow one YouTube video.

This doesn't look like display damage to me. This looks like missing data lines to the display. And/or backlight issues. That could be a torn or punctured flex cable. Or it could be an issue with some of the board components around the display connector. I don't see any damage to the cable in your pictures, but that doesn't always mean there isn't any. There's a lot to that cable that isn't in the photos. (The one to the LCD)

Disconnect everything again and peel up the sticker around the connector. See if anything looks crooked, or damaged. Post pics of that if you're unsure. Here's a normal one for reference.

This could also be an issue with blown backlight components if the display was disconnected with the battery still connected. You are less likely to see anything if this were the case. But still worth looking at.
