Hi!

Can you post a video about this? Is it doing this all the time? Or only when it boots?

Thanks!

@dan0 I may be able to record a short video as am gonna do a video tutorial on the Xbox one teardown and it does it when either shutdown or in sleep when it should not

Hi Matt!

Thanks for letting me know!

It doesn't sound like the mechanism or the button it self (flex cable). So it's must be something else, I guess...

Is the Xbox completely up to date? I would test with another drive and see how that works out.

Make sure to transfer the original PCB from the old drive to the new drive!!

If possible, you can sent us the video!

I will try in fact I was gonna tear it down to the internals and tear down the drive itself to find out the issue but I would need to have another drive off the web and not any other consoles I have from the market place as they are second hand and am doing those up to sell on also the controller does not stay connected to the console when synced using the sync button

You can check the internal of the drive yes, maybe you will find dust or any other broken part that can cause it!

Buying a broken drive is a option (like with a broken laser). Then you can swap lasers out. That's another option as well.

Also, the sync issues can be related to the bluetooth card. Please check that one as well!

Well this can be the reason:

  • Dust or dirt has gotten into the disc detection sensor.
  • The micro-switch that senses disc presence is worn or slightly misaligned.
  • The roller rubber is worn or slipping, making it attempt to “grab” repeatedly.
  • The drive firmware may momentarily “check” for discs on wake or startup, this can sound like it's trying to suck a disc in even when idle.
