It all depends on what headlights you have and the overall condition of the lenses. If they're cloudy and hazy, look into either replacing the housings or getting them restored/polished. I bought a used Honda with some hazy lights. I paid a friend to polish them and it was a night and day difference and I have halogen bulbs.

Definitely do some homework and find out which specific housings you have and go from there. You need to know what you have before you throw in a random "upgraded" light bulb. Otherwise you may yield diminishing returns.

Update (01/16/26)

Ok thank you for providing the exact year and model you have. There appears to be two options for headlights on these models, a standard LED and an upgraded multibeam LED, both of which are sealed units, you cannot change the bulbs in either one. The standard LED is just their "standard" headlight option, or if you want something really fancy, that's where the Multibeam option comes in. The car uses a combination of cameras and software to adjust the LEDs in the assembly on the fly. If that's the option you have, it may have a fault code or could use recalibration, potentially causing the issues you're experiencing. If you have the standard LEDs, you may need to look at replacing the housings. You could potentially upgrade to the multibeams, but that may be a very expensive job because the headlights themselves are expensive, but also require different wiring harnesses and additional hardware/software to operate them, they simply aren't "plug and play".

Figure out which ones your vehicle has and go from there. If you have the multibeam, might want to check with a dealership or independent Mercedes specialist to see about getting the headlights diagnosed and potentially recalibrated.

Jesse than you for your reply. My car is a 2017 MB 220d. The headlights are in great condition but they do not light up the road as I need and therefore i am looking for a brighter beam of light.

Hi @eunanmoran

Before replacing the headlamp bulbs/LEDs, try adjusting the headlamps alignment to the road and check if that resolves the problem.

Do not adjust them too high or too far to the left (or right if RHD) so that the light from the headlamps dazzle the drivers of oncoming vehicles
