While Windows 7 is being shown here, the same steps apply in Windows 10 and 11.

This method can be used for USB printing or network printing but requires manual setup, as it copies the files to the computer in the Windows driver folder. This can be used in place of model-specific drivers, which can sometimes work around bugs that come up as the printer ages

At the installation screen, select USB mode- Plug and Play.

Once you select the mode, pick the options you wish to use. While these settings can be changed, leave it as-is unless you understand what this does to the Windows driver store.

Click Next and the files will be copied to your computer.
