Frequent loss of Wifi Connection

Your HP Stream 13- c002dx will not hold a wifi connection or will not connect at all.

Wifi Driver Needs Updated

If your HP Stream 13- c002dx is not showing or connecting to any internet sources, you should check to make sure your computer has the most current wifi driver installed. To do this, first go to the windows start button and search for “Device Manager”. In the new window, click the “Network Adapters” tab and update each of the devices by double clicking on them and choosing “update device driver”. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Wifi Card Needs Replacing

To Replace the wifi card start by flipping over the laptop and remove all the screws, including the ones under the rubber stops. Next, use a separating tool to remove the bottom cover from the body. Once the bottom cover is removed you will be able to see the wifi card in the center of the laptop. Take the separating tool and place it in-between the wifi card and the motherboard while applying leverage. This will dislodge the wifi card making it to where it can be removed. Once removed, replace the wifi card with the replacement card. After the new wifi card is attached to the motherboard take the bottom cover and place it back on the body. Press the cover around the edges snapping the cover back on and replace the screws and the rubber stops.

Frozen or Jammed Keyboard

Your HP Stream 13- c002dx keyboard does not work or has a key that is unresponsive.

Jammed Keys

If particular keys are jammed, you may be able to take a flat head screwdriver and pull it up, as well as clean underneath the key to remove sticky material. Do not use any liquid material to remove dirt or grime, as this may cause your entire keyboard to be defective.

Frozen and Unresponsive Keyboard

If your keystrokes are not registering on your screen then you may have a defective keyboard. This can be due to liquid spills or of dirt getting between the keys. You should replace your keyboard with a new one.

Common Wear and Tear Problems Causing USB to be Unresponsive

Your HP Stream 13- c002dx does not respond to devices being plugged into the USB port. Nothing pops up on the screen once you insert the device into the port.

USB Driver Incompatibility

If USB ports on your HP Stream 13- c002dx are not responsive to a USB drive, check to make sure you have the current driver software installed. To make sure your USB drivers are up to date, go to the windows start button and search for “Device Manager”. In the new window, click the “Universal Serial Bus controllers” tab and update each of the devices by double clicking on them and choosing “update device driver”. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Malfunctioning USB Port

If you have checked to make sure you are running the current drivers for your USB ports and there are still some that are unresponsive, you will need to replace your USB ports.

Battery Fails to Hold Charge

Your HP Stream 13- c002dx dies frequently or will not turn on without being connected to the charger.

Battery Does not Charge or Hold a Charge

Battery has had too much usage and will not hold a charge. This can be fixed by replacing the battery with a new battery. To replace the battery, flip the laptop over and remove all the screws. Including the ones under the rubber stops. Use a separating tool to remove the bottom cover from the body. Once the cover is removed, unplug the battery and pull the battery from the body. Once removed, place the new battery in the place of the original and plug up the connection. Take the bottom cover and place back on the body and press along the edges to snap it back on the body. Finally, replace the screws and the rubber stops.

Distorted Audio

Your HP Stream 13- c002dx does not have sound during audio playback or makes crackling, static noise.

No Audio Playback

If no sound is coming from your HP Stream 13- c002dx when you listen to audio playback, this may be a sign that an audio driver is out of date or incompatible. To make sure your audio drivers are up to date, first go to the windows start button and search for “Device Manager”. In the new window, double click the “audio” tab and choose “update device driver”. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Distorted Audio Playback

If there are crackling noises when listening to audio playback through your computer speakers, this may be a sign that your speakers are blown. However, as a first precaution, update your device drivers. If this does not solve your audio issue, you should replace the speakers. To do this flip over the laptop and removed all the screws including the ones under the rubber stops. Then use a separating tool to remove the bottom cover from the body. The speakers are located towards the bottom corners of the laptop. Unplug the connection wire and remove the Blown speakers. Once removed replace with the new set and plug up the connection wire. Then replace the bottom cover to the body. Applying pressure around the edges to snap the cover back on. Once the cover is back on replace all the screws including the rubber stops.
