Sticky keys after kids drink

Hi everyone, have the 915 clicky and it got sticky drink on the keys.

I cleaned most of it but some switches are still slow.

What are the correct replacement switches for it?

P.S. I can do soldering.

Thanks

Simon

Filtre ölçütü:

The sticking keys are the least of the problems.

Any of that drink remaining on the KBD is likely to corrode it over time rendering it useless.

I would first dissemble and do a thorough cleaning in clean water, then dry for a couple days.

Once cleaned, I would think there would be no more sticking keys.

I did clean it before but two or three keys are still a bit slow compared to the rest.

Thanks for not providing an answer.

If you didn't use Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ the first time to clean the keys etc, try cleaning them again but this time use it and check if that resolves the problem. It's available from electronics parts stores e.g. Jaycar, Altronics, RS Components, Bunnings also has it.

Clean water is OK, just (still has some contaminants), distilled water is better but IPA99%+ cleans best as it leaves no residues, conductive or otherwise and it evaporates quickly. Just don't make the circuit board too wet in case it starts to lift the traces off the board
