Samsung Galaxy Mega Troubleshooting

No matter what you do the phone will not turn on.

Connect the phone to a power source through an undamaged, UL certified power adapter. Give the phone a few minutes and see if it turns on. If it does not, replace the battery with a new battery, using this guide.

The phone vibrates or make sounds, but the screen stays dark. The phone may be functioning but the display screen might be broken or malfunctioning. A replacement screen is likely needed.

The touch screen is unresponsive to my touch, or does not turn on at all.

This can be several reasons, first make sure to use just your bare fingers to try and operate the screen. Wearing gloves may cause the screen to not register your touch. If screen continues to be unresponsive a replacement may be needed.

Note: this can occur because the screen and your fingers are cold. the heat from your fingers is how the phone reads your touch.

If your screen is cracked or broken this can cause the screen to be unable to read your touch due to internally damaged components. A replacement screen may be needed.

No matter how long the phone is charging, the battery life is never full

Connect the phone to a power source through an undamaged, UL certified power adapter for four hours or more. Monitor the device for excessive heat. If the device does not charge to full or gets hot to the touch, replace the battery with a new battery using this guide.

With a known to be good battery, phone will turn on but will not charge or charge fully. Device gets hot while charging. The charging port may be damaged or corroded. Replace the charging port of the device using this guide.

The audio sounds distorted or cannot be heard at all.

Turn the phone ringer volume up to maximum level through the phone settings. Programs and alarms have separate volume controls, pull up the settings for each one individually.

Volume of the device is on and at maximum level, audio quality is poor or non-existent. The speaker may be damaged. Replace the speaker using the provided guides. For front facing speakers use this guide. For audio speakers use this guide.

The photos taken by device are black or heavily distorted

Camera lens has a crack or visible physical damage. Replace the camera lens using the provided guides. For front facing camera use this guide. For front facing camera use this guide.

Modify the camera settings to bring photo into focus. If the photo will still not focus, lens may have internal damage. Replace the camera lens using the provided guides(s). For front facing camera use this guide. For front facing camera use this guide.
