Background and Identification
The Dell Inspiron 13 7368 is a convertible laptop released in late 2016. It has a 13-inch touchscreen which can fold 360 degrees to lie flat on the back of the keyboard. The case is made from brushed aluminum and has two large connectors between the bottom and top sections of the laptop that allow it to fold freely. The bottom cover is black and has the word “Inspiron” debossed in the center. In terms of ports, it has both USB-A and USB-C along with HDMI and a headphone jack.
If you can’t find a guide here on iFixit, the Dell service manual has great information for removing most parts in this device. You can remove the back cover with a Phillips screwdriver, and commonly replaced components inside like the battery and M.2 SSD are accessible with the same tool. The laptop has two memory slots for up to 16 GB in total.
You can identify this laptop by looking for an informational sticker on the bottom of the laptop. The sticker should contain the model name “Inspiron 13 7368” and the service code/tag for the laptop (a.k.a. Dell’s version of a serial number). If you plug one of these service numbers into Dell’s support website you can find more exact information on your exact device.
